Prof. Meixia TaoIEEE Fellow, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China Meixia Tao is a Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Her current research interests include wireless edge learning, coded caching, semantic communications, and multi-antenna technologies. She has published over 120 journal papers and 140 conference papers. She has received the First Prize in Natural Science from the Shanghai Municipality, the IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award, the IEEE Heinrich Hertz Award for Best Communications Letters, and a number of Best Paper awards at interference conferences such as IEEE/CIC ICCC 2015 and WCSP 2022. Dr. Tao is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory and the Vice-Chair of the Information Theory Society of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. She is a Fellow of IEEE and receives the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. |
Prof. Yang YangIEEE Fellow, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China Bio: Professor Yang Yang is the Associate Vice-President for Teaching and Learning, the Academic Registrar, a professor with the Internet of Things Thrust, and the Director of the HKUST(GZ)-Terminus Joint Research Center for Digital World with Intelligent Things (DOIT) at HKUST(GZ), China. He is responsible for establishing and improving a digital academic registrar system as well as coordinating the teaching resources across the entire university. Professor Yang was a member of the Academic Board at University College London (UCL) and a member of the Advisory Committee of Information Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prior to joining HKUST(GZ), he had served ShanghaiTech University for more than 10 years, as the Vice Dean of School of Information Science and Technology, the Director of Office of Academic and Student Affairs, the Executive Dean of School of Creativity and Art, and the Founding Master of Kedao College. From June 2023 to August 2024, he was the Dean of College of Education Sciences at HKUST (GZ). He has accumulated rich experiences in different fields of higher education, such as student interview and recruitment processes, degree program developments, whole-person cultivation plans, interdisciplinary curriculum designs, technological and pedagogical innovations, performance evaluation methods, undergraduate mentoring and career services at the collegiate system. Professor Yang’s research interests include AIoT technologies and applications, multi-tier computing networks, and 5G/6G mobile communications. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and was a member of the Chief Technical Committee of the National Science and Technology Major Project “New Generation Mobile Wireless Broadband Communication Networks” in China, a member of the Chief Technical Committee of the National 863 Hi-Tech R&D Program “5G System R&D Major Projects” in China, a Board Member of the OpenFog Consortium and the Director of Greater China Region, the Chair of the Steering Committee for Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC). From 2008 to 2010, he collaborated with Airbus and Rolls-Royce in the UK and applied IoT technologies to the aviation industry for the first time. From 2012 to 2016, he led a technical team to design and implement distinctive IoT technologies for the water monitoring system of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project in China, which is from Danjiangkou Water Reservoir to Beijing and Tianjin cities (1432 KM, the longest IoT system in the world). From 2020 to 2023, he is the Principal Investigator of the project “5G-enabled IoT Infrastructure Development for the Smart Cities in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area”, under the National Key Research and Development Program of China. |

He is the director of Talent Work Office of Donghua University, member of Degree Evaluation Committee, and member of Teaching Committee.He was awarded Shanghai Excellent Academic Leader in 2023, Shanghai Oriental Scholar Distinguished Professor in 2022, Shanghai Shuguang Scholar in 2020, and Shanghai Young Top Talent in 2019. Prof. Carlos JuizIEEE Senior Member The University of the Balearic Islands, Spain Bio: Professor Carlos Juiz received his PhD degree in Informatics from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Spain. He has got a postgraduate degree on Office automation Management from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. Before joining the Department of Computer Science at UIB, he had several positions related to the computer systems industry. From 1990 he was Systems Analyst in Xerox, leaving this position as Senior Analyst in 1999. He was visiting researcher at Department for Computer Science and Business Informatics, University of Vienna, in 2003 and Visiting Associate Professor at Biomedical Informatics Research, in 2011, at Stanford University. Carlos Juiz is heading the ACSIC research group (http://acsic.uib.es) and his research interest mainly focuses on performance engineering, Green IT and IT governance.He has been involved in 50 regional, national, European and international research projects, including cooperation projects mainly with Universities of Paraguay, Albania, Tunisia, Morocco and Ecuador. He has participated in more than 500 international conferences, workshops and congresses as reviewer, session chair, president of the program committee but mostly as programme committee member or scientific committee member. He is co-author of more than 200 international papers (including journals, published reviews, proceedings and book chapters) and two university textbooks. Carlos Juiz has given about 50 international seminars and invited to conferences at numerous prestigious universities in the world.Carlos Juiz is senior member of the IEEE and also senior member of the ACM. He has also been appointed as a member of the Domain Committee on Cloud Computing from IFIP until 2017.He was the Sub-director of the Polytechnic School (2004-2005) and Director of the Office of Planning and Prospective at the University of the Balearic Islands (2005-2007). He was the President's Delegate of New Technologies (2007-2011) and Vice-rector for Information Technologies (2011-2013) at UIB. Carlos Juiz was the Director of the Chair from Telefónica at UIB (2012-2014). He is one executive vice-president at the TURISTEC cluster and also board member of Balears.T cluster. He is the coordinator of the workgroup of Governance of IT AENOR, the Spanish body in ISO and coeditor of the ISO/IEC 38503 standard.Currently, He is Subdirector of the Laboratory of Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at UIB. |
